NPCA, ACPA Partner to Launch The Precast Show 
The National Precast Concrete Association and American Concrete Pipe Association announced they are collaborating to launch a new trade show devoted specifically to the precast concrete industry. The Precast Show will debut Feb. 20-22, 2009, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
Developed by leading precast suppliers and manufacturers within the industry, The Precast Show will showcase the latest equipment, products and services. In addition to an expansive trade show floor, the event will include technical education programming, plant tours, networking events and much more.
Board members of NPCA and ACPA said the new trade show will be tailored to precast and concrete pipe producers in a growing industry that includes hundreds of products for both underground and above-ground construction. Dan Barbour, NPCA chairman of the board, and Tom Wheelan, ACPA chairman of the board, signed the partnership agreement July 20 in Omaha, Neb.
“The Precast Show will connect precasters and suppliers in new ways, and we’re very happy that ACPA has joined us in this venture,” Barbour said. “This show will be fun to develop and exciting to attend. We started with a blank piece of paper and talked extensively with many of the industry’s leading suppliers and precasters. This show will reflect the best ideas from both groups.”
The partnership is a natural fit for both trade associations, according to ACPA chairman Wheelan. “We share many of the same suppliers, we have many of the same production equipment needs and we run our plants in similar ways,” Wheelan said. “The opportunities for technical training and networking will benefit both groups greatly.”
