ASTM C27 Update
C27 Overview

Phillip Cutler is NPCA’s director of Technical Services.

The ASTM C27 Committee oversees 28 standards for precast concrete products excluding concrete pipe, culverts and manholes. These standards are covered by the following eight subcommittees:

C27.10 Utility Structures

C27.20 Architectural and Structural Products

C27.30 Water and Wastewater Containers

C27.40 Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete Made by the Spray-Up Process

C27.50 Terminology

C27.60 Precast Autoclaved Aerated Concrete

C27.70 Precast Concrete Products for Stormwater Management

C27.90 Executive

NPCA technical staff will participate in these committees by attending upcoming ASTM C27 and the six technical subcommittee meetings and will report results in future editions of MC magazine.

Precasters are also encouraged to get involved with ASTM and to participate on the committee(s) and subcommittee(s) of their interest.

ASTM Committee C27 is scheduled for its next regular meeting Dec. 4-5, 2007, in Tampa, Fla., at the Tampa Marriott Westside.
